Don’t lick my paintings!
"Giant sweets from childhood dreams."

Linda’s studio is crammed full of giant, just created candies, still glistering as they dry. Some are circular or lozenge shaped. Some 3 dimensional, extruded, rippled or twisted. It is as if they have just been manufactured, laid out to dry and awaiting their wrapping.
The art is slick and polished in finish. Even the sides of the paintings are considered. Her art has a sense of human objectivity just large enough to put your arms around. Her practice is concerned with process and paint's endless aesthetic properties. She uses many processes such as pouring dragging spinning dipping and trapping. The paintings are built up in numerous layers until there is nothing more to add. Paintings that emerge out of what appears to be chaos are exquisite luminous pieces often likened to sticky confectionery. Drawn to the beauty of repetition, her work is often modular, created in multiples and hung in grid like patterns.
Recently she has been experimenting with different materials, trapping layers of pigment and mixed media between Perspex.
A new collection of giant marble like creations will be unwrapped later this year.
