Where We Live

Playground frieze 25 m x 1.5 Morningside Primary School Hackney London 2007 


A series of workshops with a selected group of children, informed the final design.

Materials – Digital print – acrylic sheet – CnC routed board – Paint and Varnish.

Workshops - 14 children, years 3-6 focused on the theme ‘where we live’.
We looked at local architecture and the buildings we used. Also we reflected on our free time, looking at the way we enjoyed our environment and local communities. Through photography, collage and charcoal drawing the participants made their visual interpretation to their life in Hackney. All the images were incorporated into the final design and installation. A permanent frieze was created for the main playground area.
